Despite adequate exercise and well-balanced nutrition, it may be difficult for men to lose fat in certain areas. It can be quite frustrating to eat well and exercise regularly, and yet not have a tight, contoured body that reflects your healthy lifestyle. In these cases, liposuction surgery can be ideal as it allows your isolated problem areas to be addressed!
What Is Liposuction?
Also known as lipoplasty or “lipo,” liposuction is a surgical procedure that directly removes fat through a small incision in the skin. There are many areas that can benefit from the liposuction treatment as well, including waist and abdomen (most popular), buttocks and hips, back, upper arms, thighs, calves, and more.
The Liposuction Procedure
Once you have discussed the ideal you want to achieve with Dr. Zienowicz, bodybyZ will target the specific areas of improvement. The process can then begin under local or general anesthesia, or intravenous sedation. Dr. Z will then make small incisions at the target site and then insert a hollow tube called a cannula. The cannula is then moved gently back and forth to loosen and dislodge fat deposits. The fat deposits are then removed via surgical vacuum.
Once the fat has been removed, Dr. Z will seal the incisions and may continue to mold the target areas using elastic bandages or compression garments. The downtime and recovery period for liposuction is approximately one to two weeks. You should be careful to avoid strenuous force on the stitches as well as strenuous activity for that period.
The Benefits of Liposuction
After liposuction surgery, as your stubborn body fat has been eliminated, you will feel more self-confident and have higher self-esteem. Your shape will become noticeably more-sculpted and you will see a more defined contour to your muscles after a period of about three months. Many male patients also find that they can wear more tight-fitting clothing options, and engaging in exercise becomes much easier, as your new body makes you feel more comfortable.
